The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation issued an urgent alert for pensioners in 2025. The latest update requires all pensioners in receipt under the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS-95) to furnish a new pension verification form before 30 July 2025. By not adhering to the time limit, those pensioners would cease to be paid their pension from 1 August 2025.
Why Form Must Be Filled?
This is in pursuance of:
- The digitization and updation of pensioner records by EPFO
- Accurate disbursal of pensions
- Prevention of double or fraudulent claims
The new form contains updated details related to a pensioner, Aadhaar verification, and bank account confirmation for facilitating pension payments under this scheme in the future.
Who is Required To Submit the Form?
The injunction applies to:
- All pensioners under EPS-95, whether receiving the enhanced amount or minimum amount of pension
- Pensioners who recently altered banks or their addresses.
- Those yet to submit their Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) for 2025.
Even if you submitted the forms before, you will have to submit new forms as per EPFO’s compliance mandate for the year 2025.
Deadline and Consequences
- Deadline for the New Pension Form Submission: 30 July 2025
- Consequence of Non-Submission: Pension payments will remain paused without effect from 1 August 2025 until the form is submitted and accepted
This rule is standard across all States, with absolutely no exceptions.
How to Submit the Form
The pensioner may submit the new form via:
- Online: via the EPFO Member Portal
- Offline: at the nearest EPFO office, Common Service Centre (CSC), or bank branch handling your pension
- Some banks have set up Pension Desks to facilitate the submission of the forms
Ensure that the form is filled in correctly and contains:
- UAN number
- Aadhaar details
- Bank account details
- Signature/thumb impression.
