What Is This R3,070 SASSA Grant?
The R3,070 is not one singular grant but an accumulation into its total of several SASSA payments that an individual may qualify for. For instance, if an older person receives the Old Age Grant of R2,180 as well as a Grant-in-Aid of R530, together with a Child Support Grant of R370, then the R3,070 could be given under various family structures and situations. Who Qualifies?

SASSA has officially released the payment schedule for August 2025:
- Older Persons Grant : Friday, 2 August 2025.
- Disability Grant : Monday, 5 August 2025.
- Child Support and Remaining Grants : Tuesday, 6 August 2025.
All payments shall be made into bank accounts, or payments cards, or through other designated cash pay points throughout the country.

Applications for the grant can be submitted:
- Online through the official SASSA website.
- In person at the closest SASSA office.
- By submitting the required documents including ID copies, proof of income, and the medical report (disability grants).
SASSA encourages that applicants apply well before the month ends to ensure the payment can never be delayed.
