SASSA August 2025 Payment Dates Announced, Check When You’ll Be Paid

The SASSA Grant Payment Dates August 2025: The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has duly announced the grant calendar for August, 2025, thus making it clear for more than 19 million beneficiaries as to when they are to receive PAYMENTS. This type of pro-active communication is put in place to keep people calm down and eliminate any long queues before pay points.

Official Grant Dates-August 2025

According to the latest announcement:

  • Older Persons’ Grant: Tuesday, 5 August 2025.
  • Disability Grant: Wednesday, 6 August 2025.
  • Children’s Grants (Child Support, Foster Care, Care Dependency, Grant-in-Aid): Thursday, 7 August 2025.

Then, another newly introduced fourth date for payment is Friday, 8 August, available for those beneficiaries currently in profile verification reviews so that these beneficiaries get their monies within the month even through administrative delays.

What Beneficiaries Will Receive

The August grants include the following:

  • Older Persons (60–74) And Disability : R2,315.
  • Older Persons (75+) And War Veterans : R2,335.
  • Care Dependency : R2,315.
  • Foster Care : R1,250.
  • Child Support : R560.
  • SRD Grant : R370.

The Flow Of Funds

Payments are effected through:

  • Direct bank deposits into the beneficiary’s bank accounts.
  • Via SASSA Gold/Black Card from ATMs.
  • Cash collections at authorised pay points like post offices or retailers.

SASSA instructs beneficiaries to refrain from withdrawing on day-one of payment, to ease congestion and long queues; they can, however, collect their funds at any convenient time thereafter.

Why The Fourth Payment Date Matters

Since May 2023, in verifying income and identity, SASSA has had some 250,000 grants placed under review. The payment of persons under review is ensured by this fourth date, payable if documentation is successfully completed thereon, so as not to interrupt the regular payment.

SASSA Chief Executive Officer Themba Matlou said the schedule is designed to protect integrity without punishing beneficiaries, with additional staff and extended office hours put in place to clear the backlog of verification.

What You Should Do Now

  • Mark your payment date in early August.
  • Change any outdated bank/SASSA card details since such will cause payment delays.
  • If you are under review, please do make sure to keep your appointment so you can get paid on the eighth.
  • Withdraw any time it is comfortable for you; avoiding peak crowd hours will help all.
  • Report all scams to SASSA; these scammers will never ask for money or personal details over SMS or by calls.
